Greetings,

Starting this Saturday, the network team will begin work on transitioning our email firewalls to new hardware. You may know these as mail1.digikey.com and mail2.digikey.com. I wanted to email ahead of time to for app developers to check to make sure if your apps send email that they point to mail.digikey.com, that is the F5 VIP for outgoing email. There will be about a week in the schedule that mail1 and mail2 the following week will not be available. We are transitioning to a 3 server system for capacity and redundancy.

This is the tentative schedule subject to change.

03/06/2021 Saturday: Connect Mail3 and bring online.

03/08-12/2021 M-F: Configure and test Mail3.

03/13/2021 Saturday: Add Mail3 to DNS and the F5 pool.

03/13-19/2021 Sat-Fri: Monitor for any issues and correct.

03/20/2021 Saturday: If no issues, Bring Mail 1 offline and replace with new hardware.

03/22-26/2021 M-F: Configure Mail1 and test.

03/27/2021 Saturday: If no issues, bring Mail1 online, and take Mail2 offline and replace hardware.

03/29/2021-04/02/2021 M-F: Configure Mail2 and test.

04/03/2021 Saturday: If no issues, bring Mail2 online.

If your apps point directly to Mail1 or Mail2, there will be a week interval that your app will not be able to send.

If you are pointed at one of them and are unable to change it before the above dates, please let us know so we can adjust the schedule if we can.
